01 · THE BASICS
Running form is how your body moves when you run — posture, foot strike, knee drive, arm swing and lean. Small flaws raise injury risk and waste energy.

02 · FIX YOUR ZONES

Not by itself — most runners, even elites, land rearfoot. The red flag is heel strike plus overstride, a locked knee and low cadence, which together create braking force. Isolated rearfoot contact under the body is acceptable. Foot-strike guide →

03 · SCORES
Most recreational runners score 55-75 out of 100. Anything under 60 usually means two or more zones need drills.
Each visible zone scores 0–100 (optimal 85+, fair 60–84, critical below 60) and the overall is the rounded average. Guardrails keep it honest: any critical zone caps the total at 70, two or more cap it at 60.

Cadence, ground-contact time, vertical bounce, loading rate, leg stiffness and pronation speed all need time-series, video or force data — so they are never guessed from your photo, only prescribed as drills where the evidence supports them.
Overstride mechanics feed hamstring strain and raise tibial loading, and high loading rates are tied to stress fractures — which is why braking force, not foot strike alone, is what gets flagged. Fix overstriding →
